55% OF VICTIMS IN THE U.S.A. ARE WOMEN AND ARE MEN

In the USA, statistics of human trafficked victims, has begun to reveal an increasing trend in victim typology. Traditionally, we thought victims were always girls and women, but now there are increasing male victim stories coming to light. Unfortunately, most research to date has been completed on females therefore little informed knowledge has been gathered on the male experience. There is a need for funding to research gender-specific trauma-reactions and service needs.
