The Target

The Target

The FBI’s National Crime Information Center reports 365,343 missing children in 2020 and 421,394 reported missing in 2019. The pandemic will increase these numbers as underserved communities have been more stricken with poverty making those children more vulnerable.

The Trick

The Trick

Flattery: Online predators will flatter or give special attention to their victims. They will say they are in love with them or promise they can get them a job as a model.

Intimidation: Once an online predator knows their victim, they can intimidate or threaten them by exposing pictures or telling their parents.

The Trap

The Trap

The FBI estimates that 50% of all sextortion is the number one trap for kids 11-16 online. FBI estimates 500,000 online predators are a daily threat to kids going online.

Curriculum

Elite foundation’s education on prevention and awareness has been widely received nationally, as well as internationally. Educating kids and parents has proved to be a proactive measure in keeping kids safe in an age where they are taught that it is ok to talk to strangers. However, Elite has studied the market and while there are plenty of materials that support teenagers and adults, this is not the case for kids under the age of 11. This makes this population more vulnerable because they are nearing the average age of entry into Sex Trafficking, completely unshielded.

Elite has created a curriculum that proactively teaches children from the age of 5 up to adults to be “TraffickedProofed” by focusing on the avoidance of being a TARGET, TRICKED or TRAPPED by traffickers.

Unique Elements

TraffickProof recognizes that developing a practical preventive resource requires significant investment in understanding the perspective of young students and listening to victims. This curriculum uses targeted education informed by the voices and experiences of victims. It is culturally sensitive and trauma-informed to promote enhanced emotional intelligence, esteem, and awareness. The curriculum provides memorable illustrations and easy-to-understand language that equips those who wish to train others and those who need training.

Strategic Partners

TraffickProof is supported by college, university, and corporate partners, who are leaders in the movement to end the exploitation and trafficking of our vulnerable. It engages stakeholders including educators, guardians, and parents to empower children before they fall prey to victimization and exploitation.

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

Considering the awful consequences of human trafficking, TraffickProof’s 3T paradigm (Target, Trick, Trap) provides an age-appropriate learning investment for children that may spare them the experience of being trafficked and exploited.
